One thing I love about baseball is the different walk up songs players use when they go up to bat. They use them for fun (former Marlin Mike Redmond used Sir Mix A Lot’s “I Like Big Butts [and I Can Not Lie]”) or to scare opposing pitchers/players (Marlins player Hanley Ramirez has used the Scarface theme song). I have started enjoying them. I even ended up getting some in my phone so I can listen to them whenever. I am going to start making posts listing the songs our Panthers use as walk up songs.

I always look forward to FIU Baseball season. This video has made me feel so incredibly pumped for February 18 to get here! I mean, how can it not make you get excited? The video features my friend, Panthers Outfielder, Jabari Henry and Pitcher Alberto Cardenas.

Admission to the game is $7 but if fans bring a Diet Pepsi can marked “Go Free”, admission is free! I love free tickets especially when it comes to baseball.

As always, Go Panthers!

FIU National Signing Day Unveiling February 3, 2011

The NSD Unveiling Party was tonight at the FIU Stadium Club. It seems like every year these events get more packed. There were many fans at the party who are excited about FIU’s best recruiting class to date!

CiCi’s Pizza provided the grub with yummy cheese pizza while Pepsi provided the soft drinks. There was a lot of mingling between friends and oogling over the Sun Belt Championship and Little Caeser’s Bowl Championship trophies.

It was great spending time chatting with good Panther friends like Roman & Marlene Garcia, Jose, Pete Pelegrin, Berta, and Lori-Ann.

Roary greeted everyone as they walked inside.

While waiting for Coach Mario Cristobal to speak, Roary gave a speech… or at least he pretended to.

Fans and members of FIU Athletics listen to Coach Cristobal as he speaks.

Coach Cristobal, as always, is very excited about the future of FIU. It is obvious how passionate he is about this team. Coach said, “I want this city to be a sea of blue and gold!” I love the sound of that!

A video was played that introduced our new Panthers and was filled with highlights of each player. It started with this awesome screenshot.

I am very excited about this new signing class. I can’t wait to see them on the field and show the world what they got! Go Panthers!
